The Municipality of Devin is situated on 575 square kilometers in the south-western part of the Rodops Mountain, along the course of the Devinska and Shirokolashka rivers. It borders on the Municipalities of Smolyan, Borino, Batak, Perushtitsa and Chepelare. The landscape is typically mountainous, with steep ravines and slopes that can not be climbed up, so typical of the Rodops Mountain.
